Nursing
Necklaces are designed to be strong enough for a baby to twiddle
with but pretty enough for you to love wearing. Eye contact
is extremely important to establish during breast feeding as
it promotes a close bond between baby and mother but as those
little hands become more adventurous and start waving about,
hair pulling, or twiddling with the other breast these necklaces
become part of the intimate feeding ritual.
Normal
necklaces are not strong or safe enough to wear for this purpose
and as your baby grows you will need something gorgeous that
will withstand the odd tug. All of our necklaces are made with
material that can withstand 7kgs break weight and are strongly
crimped with Sterling Silver crimps throughout.
In
the unlikely event that a breakage did occur you will have only
a few beads on the floor rather than a floor full and you can
collect with ease before someone else gets their hands or mouth
on them! The necklaces are made with an adjustable sliding design
so that you can wear your necklace high (when not feeding) as
a normal necklace or low as a pendant.

Safety
Information:
Please abide by the following guidelines & use common sense at all
times.
Our designs are very safe & strong for little hands to pull & tug
on, but also gorgeous for you.
Semi Precious - Our Semi precious necklaces
are made from natural semi-precious gemstones & silver. They are
strung on very strong braided stainless steel cord that is coated
in nylon (manufacturers' breaking weight of 7 kgs). Each necklace
is strongly crimped with Sterling silver crimps to minimise the
risk of scattered beads in the unlikely event of a breakage. The
necklaces are then attached to solid soldered thick sealed jump
rings and attached to the faux suede cord for comfort and with adjustable
sliding design so they can be worn higher as a necklace when not
feeding.
Lucite Necklace - This necklace is
crimped every fourth bead and is made with non-toxic acrylic beads
& Lucite.
Please be aware that for your safety and that of your children our
Nursing necklaces should not be used as tethers or toys, nor should
they be left alone with an infant or toddler, as the gems are a
possible choking hazard, the cord is a strangulation hazard, just
as normal jewellery. Our Necklaces are not toys, nor should a child
be allowed to chew on them. They are designed to be stronger than
most standard necklaces, so that a child tugging and yanking on
them won't snap them easily. All the gems we use are natural and
as such may contain flaws and could possibly break if chewed on.
Even a toothless smile can apply enough pressure to break a gem.
Our Nursing necklaces are not sold or recommended as teething aides.
As with all Jewellery we recommend no child under the age of 3 years
should be left with any jewellery unsupervised. Over the age of
3 years, use caution and be sure that rules of safety are clearly
explained & met. |
